Learning for All

Program Integrity
The Wheatland School District provides a myriad of excellent programs starting with our preschool, grant services, and a charter school and extends to providing well rounded instructional efforts, staffing for effectiveness, and construction and maintenance for our facilities. It is the District’s responsibility to preserve and expand our programs to best meet student needs. This is what is necessary to be comprehensive and excellent.

Professional Excellence
High student achievement is related to the quality of our faculty and the support given to them. Content knowledge and strong instructional skills are expected. Faculty understand the learning process and are motivated both individually and collectively to move all students to higher levels of understanding and achievement. Administrators are the leaders of the teaching/learning/instructional process and are well versed in curriculum and provide direct instructional analysis. Collectively, we are all accountable for student growth and achievement.

Curricular and Instructional Evaluation and Improvement
Student achievement and growth begins with a seamless, well-paced, effective, standards- based curriculum that incorporates data analysis to ensure LEARNING FOR ALL that is focused on improving student achievement. To this end, a comprehensive assessment system monitors student progress and professional effectiveness. This system utilizes a variety of assessment strategies and provides instructional guidance, accountability, and achievement measurement.

Fiscal Responsibility
We must maintain a balanced budget and be realistic about our own local conditions (Beale AFB/Declining Enrollment/Possible Growth) in addition to the dynamics of the State and Federal government that affect our budget. The Board of Trustees believes that it is critical to protect and preserve the long-term fiscal integrity of the District.

A Quality and Safe Learning and Working Environment
Wheatland School District prides itself on providing an environment and facilities that are safe and well maintained in order to maximize optional learning, enrichment, health, and security based on high standards. Our community and the people that we serve deserve this.

Fair and Equitable Compensations for All Employees
Within the context of all other core values, we must strive to provide compensation to the best of our ability reflecting the high value we place on all our employees and recognizing they are the heart of the children’s educational experience. We will use other like district’s compensation to gauge our own total compensation package.
